IBMG’s The Merchant Mission Team Wins Charity Challenge

A team formed of colleagues from our three South East builders merchant brands; Chandlers, Parker and Fairalls, has been crowned the winner of the Teenage Cancer Trust’s Mission Unstoppable challenge.

The team, called The Merchant Mission, raised almost £15,000 for the charity in just 10 weeks of dedicated fundraising, which concluded early in 2023.

Competing against five other teams to raise the most funds for Teenage Cancer Trust within the allocated time period, IBMG’s The Merchant Mission squad took poll position with a remarkable £4,000 lead on the runners up, and a £6,000 lead on the team that came in third place.

Initiatives run by The Merchant Mission team included a footie World Cup challenge, a sponsored dog walk, a Christmas jumper jolly, a gala dinner, charity auction, in-branch darts competition and much more.

Six employees, spread across Chandlers Building Supplies, Parker Building Supplies and Fairalls, formed The Merchant Mission team to spearhead the campaign and engage with colleagues throughout the IBMG branch network. Led by Stuart Hayler, Branch Director of Fairalls Godstone Taylors Hill, the team also included; Mike Grange, Branch Manager Designate at Chandlers Woking;  Murdina Hook, Sales Co-ordinator at Parker Building Supplies Crowborough;  Keiryn Giles, Sales Co-ordinator at Fairalls Godstone Taylors Hill; Jake Graham, Business Development Executive at Chandlers Banstead; and Maddie Hickman Customer Development Manager at IBMG.

Stuart Hayler of Fairalls, said: “This was a super team effort. We put together our Merchant Mission team of five from branches located throughout the South East. All the branches of Parker Building Supplies, Chandlers Building Supplies and Fairalls really bought into the mission with the Teenage Cancer Trust message resonating with everyone.  It has been an incredible journey and an achievement that makes us all really proud.”
