Flagship Branch Opens in Guildford with High-Octane Success & a #TeaBagChallenge!

Following a multi million pound investment a 17,500 sq foot flagship branch opens in Guildford. The grand opening welcomed Harley Davidson bikers from the local HOG Chapter in Surrey with a noisy visit to the yard to celebrate the opening and launch the #TeaBagChallenge for charity.

The new Chandlers Roofing Supplies branch is the largest of its kind in the region and uniquely features a slick drive thru’ facility. The huge warehouse and equally large yard can stock in excess of 600k roofing products, making it one of the largest roofing merchant sites in the South East.

Jamie Costigan, branch manager said: “The opening celebration is all about raising money for two worthy charities; Teenage Cancer Trust and Sussex Air Ambulance. Both are charities that Chandlers and the HOG Chapter support so it was fitting, as new neighbours, to join forces and use the platform of our recent opening to support these great causes and launch our fun #TeaBagChallenge.”

This December, Chandlers #TeaBagChallenge for Teenage Cancer Trust runs on social media. Set to rival the Ice Bucket Challenge of some years ago, the TeaBagChallenge aims to raise awareness and funds for the charities.

Jaime said: “It’s so simple – just video yourself trying to throw a teabag into a cup from at least a meter’s distance. It’s a challenge that everyone can do, irrespective of age, location or physical fitness. Then tag at least three friends or colleagues and see if they do better – or worse – than you.”

Located opposite Guildford Rugby club and behind the Harley Davidson dealership, the site was ear marked for the development of the flagship branch due to demand from local roofers.

This latest branch joins the newly opened Leatherhead branch and a further new branch will open in Rye East Sussex bringing the number of Chandlers Roofing Supplies branches to nine operating from the Midlands to the South East.
